- (fl. 9th cent BCE)King of Judah (874-850 BCE), son of Asa. He was the first king of Judah to make a treaty with Israel. He married his son Jehoram (2) to Athaliah, the daughter of King Omri of Israel (II Kings 8:26). Together with Ahab, he waged war unsuccessfully against Aram. With Ahab's son Jehoram (i), he engaged in battle with Mesha of Moab.
